Spring 2021 fieldwork advancing
After a roller-coaster 2020-21, we are happy to report that field studies on Mount Logan will
proceed this year. Out of an abundance of caution, our team will be a pared-down one this
season. Helping Alison with the ground-penetrating radar survey on the summit plateau is her friend and climbing/skiing partner Rebecca Haspel.
Zac and Toby will be chasing and repeating historic landscape images. And if they luck out with good weather and conditions…, the foursome hopes to get to the top together to re-measure the height of Mount Logan’s main summit.
But first – fourteen days of self-isolation in the Whitehorse, as per territorial travel
requirements! It’s been the perfect time to go through and sort gear, pack and finalize trip
food, and to watch spring quietly unfold in this beautiful part of Canada.
If all goes according to plan, the group hopes to fly into the base of Mount Logan in early May.
